Alan A. Garvin, M.D.

Alan A. Garvin, M.D. F.A.C.C, F.A.C.P. is the Director of Nuclear Medicine and Stress Testing, and is the President of Valley Heart Associates Medical Group. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles Medical School, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr. Garvin completed his cardiology fellowships at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Dr. Garvin has presented and published research on the causes of electrocardiography, planar, clinical, nuclear, and cardiac imaging, first-pass radionuclide ventriculography, and coronary artery disease. He received a Lange Medical Publications Award in addition to the First Annual Association of Black Cardiologists Scholarship. Furthermore, he is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Garvin is also a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Garvin is the founding member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Garvin has traveled to Kenya, India, Philippines and Vietnam on a number of medical missions.
